Description
Beef Paddywhack / Beef Tendon Pieces – Australian ONLY.
Beef Paddywhack – 100% Australian grown and dried. 100% SINGLE INGREDIENT.
Our paddywacks are pieces of the regular ‘beef tendon’ cut into shorter segments. Some are he ends, some are the middle pieces. So it means they vary from 5 to 20 cm long, by 3 to 10 cm wide. Remember these are the same chewing consistency of beef tendons, and are sold by weight, so your dog always gets the same value per bag. The images shown for this product show how varied the pieces are, and vary from batch to batch, and bag to bag.
While we sell regular beef tendons those are the whole long ones about 20 to 30 cm long a little like a misshapen ruler. They are only about 5 mm thick at most parts and hard to the touch but seem relatively easy for dogs to break pieces off. But mostly suit medium to strong chewing dogs.
These paddywhack dog treats are cut off pieces of beef tendon, meaning that they are more manageable by more dogs, and you dont have to give a whole beef tendon at once – so more economical.
WHAT PART OF THE COW?
Beef paddywhack dog treats are the tendon in the Centre of the neck of cows. This so called ‘ nuchal ligament” is a combination of elastin proteins and type 3 collagen. they are typically : high in protein (78%) , then fat (10%), crude fibre (0.7%), and crude ash (1%)
DOG TREAT USAGE
Clearly they are a chewing treat, but being 100% animal and natural (no preservatives) they are much healthier and recommended for your carnivore dog – easy to process and digest. Yes they have some fat, but since dogs don’t eat them as fast as jerkies, boredom will be reduced for longer.
It also means that your dogs jaw will get exercise and their teeth cleaned, reducing dentist visits. The chewing is softer than animal bones so they are a good long chewing safe treat for most medium sized dogs.
Also simply because they are cut from the ends they are typically cheaper than whole single beef tendons, and since you are buying as a set weight, you know exactly what you are getting.
As with all treats, we recommended supervision while they eat – particularly if you know your dog doesnt chew as much as it should before swallowing !
