Are you interested in a premium dog treat that’s packed with natural nutrition, low in fat, and bursting with flavour, then our Whole Prawn Dog Treats are the ultimate reward for your best friend (dog).
These crunchy, WHOLE, dehydrated prawns are not only a delicious snack, but they’re also a powerhouse of essential vitamins, minerals, and omega-3 fatty acids that support your dog’s overall health.
Unlike heavily processed dog biscuits or treats with added fillers, our prawns are 100% natural, single-ingredient (MEAT/ ANIMAL) treats. No preservatives. No artificial colours. No grains. Just pure Australian whole prawns, carefully dried to lock in their nutrients and flavour.
Why Choose Whole Prawn Dog Treats?
Dogs naturally crave high-protein, meaty snacks. That’s why single ingredient meat based dog treats are so much more bio-available and digestible, than anything that includes plant material.
But more than that, Dogs are driven towards treats firstly by smell (10,000 times stronger than humans) and ‘mouth-feel’ or texture also increases their pleasure of food. The crunchiness and easy eating value of Australian Prawns, means that they are UNLIKE anything else they have had before. Novelty value mixes up their appreciation of this as a reward treat, as well as its major nutritional benefits.
NUTRITION WISE – Prawns are an excellent source of lean protein, making them ideal for dogs that need a low-fat, nutrient-rich reward. They are also naturally crunchy, helping to clean your dog’s teeth and gums while they chew.
These treats are:
- High in protein to support muscle development and repair.
- Low in fat, making them perfect for dogs watching their weight, or with medical conditions that require low fat diets. They are about half the fat content of most natural beef and chicken treats.
- Rich in omega-3 fatty acids that promote healthy skin, shiny coats, and brain function. And like the protein being species appropriate, animal source Omega 3, is much more bio-available for your dog as well !
- Packed with antioxidants like selenium, which boost the immune system.
- Easy to digest, even for sensitive stomachs. This means ‘hypoallergenic’ properties.
Whether you use them as a training reward, a crunchy snack, or a topper on your dog’s dinner, prawns deliver health benefits far beyond your average treat.
Health Benefits for Dogs
Whole Prawn Dog Treats are more than just a tasty snack — they actively support your dog’s wellbeing in MANY ways.
- Joint & Mobility Support: Omega-3 fatty acids help reduce stiffness and inflammation in older dogs, keeping them mobile and comfortable. Besides keeping their brain and heart healthy, they help reduce inflammation in joints.
- Skin & Coat Health: Regular prawn consumption promotes glossy fur, reduced shedding, and fewer skin irritations.
- Dental Health: The crunchy texture acts as a natural toothbrush, helping to scrape away plaque and tartar. (note if you don’t remove plaque early it turns into the much harder to remove tartar).
- Weight Management: With low fat and high protein, prawns make a guilt-free snack for overweight dogs or those prone to obesity. Because they involve meat and shell they can break apart and take a little while longer to eat.
- Brain Development: DHA (from Omega 3) in prawns supports cognitive function, making them excellent for puppies and senior dogs alike.
- Immune Boosting: Antioxidants like selenium strengthen your dog’s immune defences.
Suitable for All Dog Sizes & Breeds
Whether you have a tiny toy poodle or a large working dog, whole prawns are suitable for all breeds and life stages. You can:
- Give a whole prawn to medium and large dogs.
- Break them into smaller pieces for puppies or small dogs.
- Use them as training treats or sprinkle them as a meal topper to encourage picky eaters.
Because they’re light and low in fat, they’re especially suitable for dogs with weight concerns or those on a restricted diet. NOTE our most recent batch showed that they weight about 7g each, and are about 8-10 cm long.

Feeding Guide
Like all treats, prawns should be given in moderation and used to complement a balanced diet. Like all treats, prawns should be given in moderation and used to complement a balanced diet.
But because many commercial dog foods, consider a LOT of plant matter as part of that diet, dogs don’t often receive what we consider to be adequate protein, from animal sources. The below values are conservative
- Small dogs (up to 10kg): 1–2 prawns per day
- Medium dogs (10–25kg): 2–4 prawns per day
- Large dogs (25kg+): 4–6 prawns per day
Always provide fresh water and supervise your dog while chewing. If your dog has shellfish allergies, consult your vet before introducing prawns.
If you are likely to add a larget amount of prawns (or any healthy dog treats) regular to yuour dogs diet)- we recommend to replace gram for gram the amount of kibble with the weight of the prawns. Noting that since prawns include shell, and no carbs, and are low in fat, that their energy value per prawn is relatively low.
If 100g of dried prawn is 300 Kcal. Then at 7g a prawn, the energy per prawn is a very low 21 Kcal !
