Sardines 100g

Sardine Dog Treats Australian 100g
100% Australian, 100% sardine just slow dried in ovens. preservative and additive free ! ALWAYS better than major heat treated and soaked canned versions for humans !
Our sardines are relatively hard (compared to canned versions), but they are whole except for the head and tail. That means they are about 10 cm long and cut in half down the spine to remove the major backbone. Some sardines are a single side, some fillets are still joined together. They are easy eating for ALL dogs.
And that is one of the main reasons that you will want to select our sardines over canned versions, that can be overly processes or overly cooked. High temperatures can destroy the Omega 3 and other important nutrition components, so ours are dried at lower temps.
The primary value people quote is omega-3 fatty acids EPA and DHA but they are also very rich in
- Vitamin B12 (cardiovascular well-being)
- Vitamin D and Phosphorous (both strengthening the bone matrix)
Sardines are rich in protein, which provides the kind of essential amino acids that are fully bio available to dogs (carnivore digestive systems favouring meat proteins to vegetable based proteins)
Even though the saturated fat is only 2.6g the total fat is likely to be too high for dogs with low fat diet requirements. The rest of the dogs will get shiny coat assistance from the natural animal oils.
Typical analysis: Protein 24%, Fat 11.5% (Saturated Fat 2.6, Polyunsaturated Fat 2.7g, monounsaturated Fat 4.8g (of which 3g is Omega 3&6))), Cholesterol 77mg, Potassium 419mg, zero carbs.
